Here's why Ester Expósito left Netflix's TV series Elite


There are two main reasons why Ester Expósito left the Elite series after season 3:

  • Desire to pursue other projects: Expósito felt it was time to move on from the role of Carla and explore new acting opportunities. At a young age in her career, she wanted to take on different challenges and characters [EL PAÍS English, Actress Ester Expósito: 'After “Elite,” I realized I was alone'].
  • Character arc completion: From a narrative standpoint, Carla's story reached a natural conclusion in season 3. She graduated from Las Encinas and went to study abroad. This provided a satisfying ending for her character's development.

While some speculate her contract might not have been renewed, it seems Expósito made a conscious decision to focus on new directions in her acting career.
